Couponing Part II
My wife is amazing! She spent an hour or so printing out and organizing coupons. When she got back she had spent $125 but had purchased $371 of food. That is a savings of 66%. You should have seen the amount of food she brought home. I laughed when I saw the 50+ boxes of cereal and tried to fit them in our storage room.

Dads aren't so smart
I had a brilliant idea on the day after Halloween. In an attempt to monitor the amount of candy the kids ate, I thought I would make an ingenious rule. For every piece of candy the kids ate, they had to give me one of them. We played a 3 hour game of monopoly. By the end of the game I was so sick of candy. Then I realized why I had eaten so much. I was greatly outnumbered and for every one piece of candy that the kids had, I had 4. Sometimes I am not so smart :)
Growing Up
Our kids are growing up so fast. Colton and Chase even went trick or treating all by themselves - like "big" kids. Colton even refused to take the store bought trick or treat bag and insisted on taking a pillow case. They were excited to take the cell phone. Of course when I called him I heard someone answer but not say hello. I guess I need to give him a few cell phone etiquette lessons :)
Colton started a new blog:

Beans and Gangsters
Tonight was taco and burrito night. During our dinner conversation today, Chase showed us how "gangsters" wear there hats. He said he was a good gangster, not a bad one. We discussed how gangs made good people do bad things. Somehow Chase miss-heard us and said "beans make good people do bad things?" :) Yes, we said.

Painting
Recently we have been trying to re-do a few things in our basement. We are replacing the huge entertainment center with a small TV stand, replacing the large TV with a flat screen, replacing large couches with bean bags, etc.

The yellow color we have is getting old. We have had that color for 5 years now, and even longer in our previous house. Melissa picked out a nice brown color. They boys says it reminds them of "chocolate milk" and Colton even said we were just trying to torture him because he would always want some chocolate milk.
Here is a picture of the colors. The yellow that we are covering and the brown that we are covering it with. You can also see the brown line in the middle. That is Carters idea of painting.
