Dollar Store

Don't you love this time of year when the schools send home those fundraisers and they are so excited about all of the prizes they can win? This year is cookie dough. I like cookies, but do I really like them that much. I think Melissa can make some killer cookies from scratch. But then we have the week long battle about how they want to get the awesome prizes. If they sell enough they can even get the new game system. Of course they only have to sell about a million dollars worth of cookie dough.

But grandma wants to buy cookie dough! (Well maybe not so much). We were informed that grandma would much rather spend her money on wrapping paper.

This year we chose a different tactic. "Look at all those things you want. You can get them from the dollar store" (pointing to the prizes that they had a reasonable chance of earning). Even the FM radio mp3 player look alike was at the dollar store. Beats trying to get family and friends to spend all that money on unwanted goods

Who knew it was so easy to make a kid happy. Just take them to the dollar store. 5 dollars later and they have all the stuff they could want. Even our candy loving kid Chase keeps asking when we can go back!!!

Now I just need to figure out how I can still help the school!!!
